In this episode, Ayla, Jaydon, and Sean talk about “EPICAC,” by Kurt Vonnegut. In the story, a man uses a supercomputer to help win the affections of a woman, but as a result, the computer itself falls in love with the woman. Vonnegut wrote the story decades ahead of current innovations in artificial intelligence, yet the story remarkably sheds light onto how we use and rely upon machines to do what should be very human activities.
